Astrosophy.ai — Astrosophical Chart Computation
Astrosophy.ai is a modern web application for astrosophical chart computation, the spiritual successor to Astrofire — the only astrosophical software ever created. Astrofire was a Windows-only Visual Basic program written by Peter Treadgold (1943–2005), used by approximately 50 people worldwide. It is now end-of-life. Astrosophy.ai brings that capability to the modern web.
What is Astrosophy?
Astrosophy ("star wisdom") is a form of sidereal astrology within the Christian esoteric framework of Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy, developed by Willi Sucher (1902–1985) and extended by Robert Powell. It differs from conventional astrology in three key ways: it uses the sidereal zodiac anchored to the fixed star Aldebaran at 15 degrees Taurus, it incorporates heliocentric and hermetic (Tychonic) chart frames alongside the standard geocentric view, and it places planetary biography within a Christological cosmology.
How Does Chart Computation Work?
All planetary positions are computed via Swiss Ephemeris running as a WebAssembly module entirely in the browser. No birth data is sent to or stored on any server. The app supports 11 house systems (Placidus, Koch, Campanus, Equal, Morinus, Porphyry, Regiomontanus, Topocentric, Vehlow Equal, Whole Sign, Alcabitus) with both clockwise and counterclockwise numbering. Moshier mode provides sub-arcsecond accuracy without external ephemeris files.
What is Trutina Hermetis?
Trutina Hermetis is a classical technique for computing the prenatal conception chart from the birth chart. The method is based on the interchange of Moon and Ascendant positions between conception and birth: the natal Moon becomes the conception Ascendant (or Descendant), and vice versa. Astrosophy.ai automates this computation using Newton-Raphson optimization, converging in 3–4 iterations to find the exact conception epoch within the 273-day gestation period.
What is Astrological Biography?
Astrological biography maps planetary transits during the prenatal gestation period to events throughout a person's life, using a 1-day-equals-1-year correspondence derived from Willi Sucher's research. The prenatal positions of each planet — their ingresses, stations, aspects, and retrograde loops — correspond to biographical themes at specific ages. Astrosophy.ai computes these events automatically and presents them on an interactive timeline with 7-year developmental periods based on Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophical psychology.
What is Christ Chronology?
Christ Chronology is Robert Powell's research correlating 111 precisely dated events from the life of Christ (22 BC to AD 44) with astronomical configurations. Astrosophy.ai matches the natal chart against these events to find "resonances" — cases where a natal planet's sidereal longitude aligns with the Sun's position at a Christ event. The app also computes the 33⅓-year etheric rhythm (12,173.25-day cycle from the Resurrection) and annual cosmic commemoration dates.
What are Lemniscatory Paths?
Lemniscatory paths represent the actual figure-eight orbital motions of planets as described by Rudolf Steiner and formalized by Jonathan Schrapp. Rather than circular orbits, planets trace lemniscates (figure-eights) that rotate, breathe seasonally, and advance helically through space. Astrosophy.ai visualizes these paths in both 2D SVG and interactive 3D WebGL, with a Five Formative Steps progressive reveal showing how the Copernican orbit emerges from the supersensible lemniscatory archetype.
Historical Similars Search
Astrosophy.ai includes a database of 5,762 records from the Astro-Databank, pre-computed as planetary position vectors. Users can search for historical figures with similar chart configurations across geocentric, sidereal, and heliocentric frames. Five weight presets emphasize different aspects of similarity: balanced, inner planets, outer planets, aspects, and harmonics.
AI Interpretation
Biographical and Christ resonance interpretations are powered by Claude, grounded in a curated retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) corpus of 57 passages from astrosophical literature by Powell, Sucher, Steiner, and other authors. The corpus includes planet meanings, aspect interpretations, biographical methodology, and Christological cosmology. All interpretations remain anonymous — no subject identification from birth data.
